Recipe Re-Mix Ohio
A Social Sprouts Initiative
Recipe Re-Mix meets people halfway on healthy eating. Instead of recommending people completely change what they eat, it changes how they prepare the foods they eat.
The project has been piloted with a group at Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority’s (CMHA’s) Cedar Extension High Rise – a residential property for people 55 and older. Learning from them their favorite dishes, dietary concerns, and challenges to healthy cooking, the initiative creates a Recipe Re-Mix of some of their favorite foods. All recipes have been met with rave reviews. The Recipe Re-Mix website hosts the remixed recipes with simple instructions. We will soon be creating a YouTube channel to host videos of our cooking sessions.
In partnership with the Neighborhood Center Association’s iConnect program, we are live streaming our sessions. Members of senior communities around the city have been engaging with us online as we prepare the remixed recipes! You can join in our sessions at “zoom.us/j/485-194-1409”
Recipe Re-Mix has partnered with DigitalC, Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, and Neighborhood Center Association to bring positive programming to Cleveland’s urban population.
